A Closer Look at Indeed’s Sponsored Jobs API Charge

Indeed, the # 1 job site in the world recently announced two key policy changes to their sponsored jobs API, impacting recruiters in the US. First, effective September 1, 2024, the use of the Sponsored Jobs API will be limited to paying customers that sponsor their jobs through a campaign within the last three calendar months. The second, which we intend to focus on in this article, is effective October 1, 2024, and states that calls to the Sponsored Jobs API will be charged $3 USD per call. Charges will be incurred per Indeed account when the monthly campaign sponsorship spend is less than the total monthly API call cost.
So what does this mean? Let’s explore.
Sponsored jobs API charge
Here’s how it works. Based on this new policy, you would only be charged if the cost to call the API is more than your monthly campaign sponsorship spend. For example, if you called the API one hundred times in a month, you would need to spend more than $300 USD in your monthly spend ($3 x 100). For instance, let’s say you only spent $200 USD and called the API one hundred times. You would be $100 short of what it costs to call the API one hundred times at $3 each time. Indeed would then charge you the difference, in this case, $100.
